The Ethnological Section of the Museum Society of Serbia realized the first joint exhibition called “Tradition of Fairs in Serbia”. Behind the project are 23 ethnologists who participated in the creation of the concept, the selection of materials and structures from 18 museum institutions from all over Serbia. The coordinator of the project is Ivana Jovanović Gudurić, senior curator ethnologist at the Museum of the City of Novi Sad, president of the Ethnological Section of the Museum Society of Serbia. After the first opening of the exhibition in the Čačak National Museum, in December 2022, the exhibition will begin its journey around Serbia. The first stop on that trip will be the Museum of the Rudnik and Takovo Region.

On Thursday, February 9, at 6 p.m., the exhibition “Tradition of fairs in Serbia” will be opened in the Gallery of our museum, which will be on display until March 8, 2023. The display in Gornji Milanovac will be enriched with information about the tradition of fairs in our town, as well as an exclusive document about the establishment of fairs in our town.
