A scientific conference titled “Prince Mihailo Obrenović: time, life, works” was held in Kragujevac to commemorate the 200^th anniversary of Prince Mihailo´s  birth. The Museum of Rudnik-Takovo Region was represented by historian Aleksandar Marušić.

His presentation, based on historical sources, detailed Prince Mihailo’s frequent visits to his native Kragujevac during his second reign (1860-1868). Marušić particularly highlighted the Prince’s role during the Transfiguration Assembly in 1861 and the St. Michael’s Assembly in 1867. Contemporary newspaper reports testify to the great public enthusiasm and unity with the ruler during these visits.
