On the Miners’ Day (6 August 1982), a monument – to all those who had been doing this noble job of extracting and further processing ores from the Earth’s surface for more than two thousand years, and to all those who would inherit them in that mission – was placed in the centre of the small town of Rudnik. A monumental bronze sculpture of a miner showing his great physical strength, while leaning on a drill and with a miner’s helmet on his head, is a work of sculptors Ante Marinović and Milorad Rašić.
